Most patients pay $0 for PrEP in Alberta. Generic Truvada (emtricitabine/tenofovir) is covered under the Alberta PrEP Program for eligible Albertans with a valid provincial health card. Descovy (TAF/FTC) is covered by approximately 85% of private insurance plans, and Gilead's patient assistance program can cover remaining co-pay costs for many patients. Our consultation fee is also covered by Alberta Health for patients with an active provincial health card. No referral is needed and there are no upfront costs to book.
